INTERESTS: Piet is a brilliant man and quite a busy guy! Besides being a full-time physicist at the department of physics at the university of Greifswald/Germany, he also works as a freelance trainer for Java and J2EE, with a focus on EJB 2.0 development on the Orion Application Server. His programming experiences date back to the 1980s with Assembler, BASIC, Turbo Pascal, C, and C++. For the past five years, Piet has focused on Java, including research on high performance algorithms for graphics-orientated applications, development of programming libraries, and Java on embedded devices. Piet is also a cofounder of Lokah Limited, a London-based software development firm in the wireless location-based services market. He graduated high school in 1987 and got his PhD in Physics in 1999.
